We used this three-part solution model to develop a custom training program now underway for Missouri. Here’s how it works:
The program is open to residents of the state of Missouri who are at least 18 years old. The expectation is that some learners will be coming in with little tech knowledge or experience and others with some prior tech knowledge to build upon. Many might have employment or family responsibilities that could make training during daytime hours difficult.
The ultimate goal is helping Missourians launch careers in tech in order to strengthen the workforce and build sustainable wage career pathways. In order to accomplish that, learners need to leave the program job-ready with the technical skills needed for success.
We started by offering CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Project+. The program has evolved to now include CompTIA Network+ CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+).
We developed an online mentored learning program that allows both entry-level and advanced students work at their own pace over 16 weeks. Recommended goals and milestones are provided, and virtual mentorship resources are there to support their progress. As the program evolved, an option was added for three weeks of virtual instructor-led training in IT Fundamentals (ITF+).
We are bringing several services to the table to help our Missouri partners implement the program. CompTIA is providing marketing support, including recruitment campaigns, a custom landing page and promotional collateral design. We are supporting the recruitment process with screening assessments to help engage and enroll learners.
