Distinction recognizes superior quality of technology courseware in education
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – TestOut Digital Literacy Pro, a courseware that helps teachers introduce students to hands-on technology training, has received the Seal of Approval from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). The announcement was made today by CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the information technology (IT) industry and its workforce.
The ISTE Seal of Approval sets the global standard for the effective use of technology in education. It is awarded to products that have been tested for quality and usability, including over a dozen standards for how students, teachers, administrators, coaches and computer educators should approach technology in the classroom.
“Learning products that align to ISTE Standards feature a strong user interface and support teaching practices backed by research and learning sciences,” said Caleb Hunter, learning product manager, CompTIA. “Teachers can be confident that the Digital Literacy Pro courseware will help students build confidence and fluency in their understanding of a variety of relevant technologies, and how to appropriately use them it in their school and everyday lives.”
The courseware includes interactive videos, fact sheets, lab simulations and assessments in key topics such as keyboarding, hardware, mobile technology and career pathways. All students, no matter their background, can access multi-format training resources adaptable to their own unique learning style. Students can also access the coursework from anywhere, at any time, and earn a shareable digital certification badge.
Earlier this year CompTIA acquired TestOut, a proven market leader that has helped millions of students effectively obtain workforce skills and prepare for industry certifications. The move empowered the two mission-driven organizations to extend their best-in-class learning solutions, industry-recognized certifications and career accelerators to students, professionals and academic institutions the world over.
