Washington, D.C., July 30, 2019 – CompTIA, the leading trade association for the global technology industry, today announced that Savannah Schaefer has joined the association’s growing advocacy team as senior director.
In her new role, Schaefer will focus on the development and advocacy of CompTIA’s policy positions on cyber and supply chain security and other tech and telecom issues at the federal and global levels.
“Savannah brings to CompTIA a wealth of knowledge and experience on cyber and supply chain security issues and a deep understanding of how current challenges impact consumers, businesses, government and communities across the country” said Cinnamon Rogers, executive vice president for public advocacy at CompTIA. “She will be a great asset and advocate for our industry as policymakers work towards solutions to address these complex global challenges.”
Before joining CompTIA, Schaefer served as policy counsel at the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), where she worked on cybersecurity issues facing the diverse telecommunications industry as well as a host of other security issues. Schaefer also was a fellow at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the agency’s Wireless Competition Bureau.
She is a graduate of the University of Colorado and the University of Colorado Law School.
