CompTIA, the leading trade association for the global technology industry, released the following statement from Stefanie Holland, vice president for federal and global policy, regarding the recent agreement between President Trump and President Xi to freeze additional tariffs and resume trade talks:
“We applaud the Administration's decision to withhold tariffs on $300 billion of Chinese imports – covering a wide-range of technology products that are used by consumers on a daily basis to include mobile phones, computers, printers, laptops, connected devices, and many others.
“We encourage the administration to work steadfast to reach a long-term agreement with China that addresses intellectual property theft, unfair trading practices and provides U.S. technology companies and consumers with greater certainty.”
CompTIA is leading efforts in Washington and abroad to ensure American companies are treated fairly in all trade deals.
