Washington, D.C. – The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) and the Public Technology Institute (PTI) are pleased to announce 18 technology leaders from around the country have completed the Certified Government Information Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) Program.
The PTI/CompTIA CGCIO Program, in partnership with Rutgers University Center for Government Services, is just one of four such programs in the entire United States, and only one of two that provides a national program with classes on the East Coast and West Coast.
The 2020 CGCIO Graduates were awarded certifications at two virtual graduation ceremonies, which also featured detailed presentations from all students and remarks from Dr. Alan Shark, Executive Director of PTI.
“By reaching graduation of this rather ambitious and demanding CIO certification program, you join a handful of exceptional tech leaders who put in the time toward their own professional development designed to improved technology leadership in government. And there has never been a greater need for such skills,” said Dr. Alan Shark, Executive Director of PTI.
The 2020 CGCIO Graduates are:
East Coast
West Coast
The 2020 CGCIO Program covered tech leadership strategies and styles, change management, time management, emotional intelligence, cybersecurity, budget and finance, organizational assessment, strategic planning, written and oral communications, managing human resources, and emerging tech.
Graduates completed the intensive program with approximately 240 hours of professional development including monthly projects, interactive virtual classes, five self-paced online courses, participating in three full-day sessions, and the development of a written Capstone project, which was presented at the graduation ceremony.
Applications for the upcoming CGCIO Program are currently being accepted. The East Coast Program begins June 16, 2020, and the West Coast Program begins June 18, 2020. The deadline for registrations is May 30, 2020. For more information and for details about tuition, please contact Dale Bowman at [email protected].
