CompTIA, the leading trade association for the global technology industry, released the following statement from CompTIA Executive Vice President for Public Advocacy Elizabeth Hyman regarding the White House’s latest Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education initiative.
“Our nation’s ability to remain competitive in the 21st Century economy requires every American student has access to both technological and critical-thinking skills. We applaud the White House for taking tangible and necessary steps to bolster a culture of innovation with a national strategy for STEM Education.
“We look forward to working with the Administration to not only foster the adoption of STEM programs in every school across the country but to also support additional programs – to include apprenticeships -- that will enable workers with non-traditional backgrounds to find opportunities in the workforce of the future.”
