Washington, D.C., – CompTIA, the leading trade association for the global technology industry, has named Steve Kidera senior director of communications and public affairs. Kidera will lead strategic communications and outreach for the association’s federal, state and international advocacy efforts.
“We are excited to bring on someone with Steve's wealth of experience to help communicate our message and advocate for our members and industry,” said Cinnamon Rogers, executive vice president for public advocacy, CompTIA. “Steve is a proven communicator who will help CompTIA advance key messaging and policy priorities to multiple audiences across the country.”
Kidera has more than 15 years of experience within the technology and media industries. Most recently, Kidera served as director of corporate communications for TEGNA Inc., a media company that owns local television stations across the country. Kidera also served in various communications roles at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) where he developed and executed communication plans for CTA’s member and policy divisions. He also oversaw the association’s broadcast and media opportunities. Before joining CTA, Kidera worked for several years as a news producer for a local television station in Wilmington, NC.
“CompTIA is the voice in Washington, D.C. and in state capitals across the country advocating for policies and technology that make our lives better,” said Kidera. “I’m thrilled to join such a great team and help them highlight the important work they’re doing to help drive the IT industry forward.”
