Association aims to educate and enlighten on new and emerging areas of innovation

Downers Grove, Ill. – CompTIA, the nonprofit trade association for the global technology industry, has introduced three new Technology Interest Groups (TIGs) aimed at expanding opportunities for learning and networking among people with like-minded interests in innovation.

The new TIGs on Advancing Women in Technology,  Artificial Intelligence Technology and Drone Technology are open to anyone and are free of charge. All that’s required to join a TIG is to complete a simple registration and to have an interest in technology.

“These new technology interest groups are a natural next step for CompTIA, following the great successes and accomplishments of our member communities and advisory councils,” said Nancy Hammervik, CompTIA’s executive vice president for industry relations. “The TIGs represent another advancement in our commitment to be a resource for anyone interested in the business of technology, whether you have a decade of experience in the industry or have had your interest piqued by something you heard, read or saw and wants to learn more.”

The three TIGs launched this week provide an online forum and other resources that will allow participants to take a deeper dive into specific areas of business and technology.

The Advancing Women in Technology TIG is dedicated to discussing the issues, challenges and opportunities facing women in technology.

The Artificial Intelligence Technology  and Drone Technology TIGs will explore relevant industry trends and issues impacting two of the industry’s fast-growing markets.

Participants in each of these TIGs will have opportunities to learn from and network with industry leaders. They’ll also be able to contribute to the development of best practices guidance and other resources for the industry.

“For current CompTIA members, the TIGs will allow them to explore new areas of technology and to listen to and learn from new voices representing other segments of the industry,” Hammervik added.

CompTIA intends to introduce additional TIGs on other technology topics in the coming months.
