Washington, D.C. – Today, CompTIA, the leading association for the global information technology (IT) industry, filed comments on the potential U.S. - Kenya trade agreement to the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR). The following statement can be attributed to Stefanie Holland, CompTIA’s vice president of federal and global policy:

“CompTIA welcomes the opportunity to share our negotiating objectives with USTR on the potential comprehensive free trade agreement with Kenya. This will be the first U.S. trade agreement with a Sub-Saharan African country which will provide a framework for future trade agreements in the African continent. USTR should look to build off of the success in USMCA as well as include additional provisions on digital services taxes (DST), coordinated vulnerability disclosure, and cooperation on Artificial Intelligence (AI).”
