CompTIA, the leading trade association for the global technology industry, released the following statement from Stefanie Holland, vice president for federal and global policy, regarding World Trade Month.
“May is World Trade Month. It is an excellent opportunity to focus on the contributions that open and vibrant global trade provide to the U.S. economy, in general, and the technology industry, specifically.
“Exports accounted for approximately $1 out of every $4 generated in the U.S. tech industry for a total value of $322 billion in 2017. For many tech leaders, exports account for an even higher percentage of sales, with some generating more than half of their revenue overseas.
“Trade has been vital to the global competitiveness of America’s technology industry, fueling long-term economic growth for the technology sector. We look forward to preserving and expanding the continued contribution of global trade to the creation of U.S. tech jobs and innovative companies.”

Tech Trade Snapshot: CompTIA’s research and market intelligence division will provide insight into the U.S.-China tech trade relationship and how U.S. jobs are directly supported by the tech industry.
DEC Annual Export Conference: CompTIA Advocacy is supporting the National Association of District Export Council’s (DEC) Annual Export Conference held May 21-22 in Arlington, VA. On May 21, CompTIA's David Logsdon, Senior Director for Emerging Technologies will moderate a panel on "Global Opportunities and Challenges for AI, Smart Systems and IOT. CompTIA’s Stefanie Holland, Director of International Government and Regulatory Affairs, serves as an associate member on its Board of Directors, and as a member of its local chapter, the Virginia-DC District Export Council.
