Nearly 4,000 new jobs added in 2018, according to CompTIA Cyberstates 2019™
Orlando, Fla. – Tech-related employment in the Orlando metropolitan area increased by 3,952 new jobs in 2018, according to Cyberstates 2019™, the definitive guide to tech sector and workforce analytics released this week by CompTIA, the leading technology industry association.
Net tech employment in the Orlando market grew by 4.5 percent last year to an estimated 92,022 workers, or 7.1 percent of the region’s total workforce.[1] More than 19,000 tech-related jobs have been added to the local economy since 2010.
The tech sector’s contribution to the local economy is estimated at $12.5 billion, equal to about 10.4 percent of the total economy.

"As part of the city’s economic development strategy, we continue to focus on growing and nurturing a strong tech community and over the last several years, together with our public and private partners, we’ve solidified Orlando as a hub for innovation, technology, sustainability and advancement."
Tech occupations in high demand in the market include software and web developers (+6.3 percent year over year growth), computer system and cybersecurity architects (+4.9 percent) and network architects, administrators and support specialists (+4 percent).
The median tech occupation wage is $71,579; 94 percent higher than the median wage for all occupations.
The outlook for future employment growth is positive. The Orlando market saw a 50 percent increase in the number of job postings related to emerging technologies.
Cyberstates projects the Orlando area’s base of tech occupation employment – a subset of net tech employment – will grow by an impressive 13.4 percent by 2026.
