Members Gain Access to Real-Time Threat Alerts, Critical Analysis and Online Forum
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the global information technology (IT) industry, today announced membership in the CompTIA ISAO (Information Sharing and Analysis Organization) is now included for free to all existing and new CompTIA Managed Services Providers (MSPs) members. The CompTIA ISAO, which serves as a focal point and online resource for dealing with cyber threats facing the global technology industry, is now part of the standard annual corporate membership with CompTIA.
“Cybersecurity is no longer optional for a solution provider or MSP,” said MJ Shoer, Chief Community Officer of CompTIA. “The risks and threats to their business and their customers are simply too great to ignore. Extending membership in the CompTIA ISAO to all MSP members will help these companies protect their operations and their customers while enabling CompTIA to provide real-time intelligence to the entire tech industry.”
By working closely with MSPs, the CompTIA ISAO provides a broad scope of real-time intelligence and a comprehensive view of the cybersecurity issues facing business users across multiple industries.
“This is a critical time for all technology companies,” said Wayne Selk, Vice President, Cybersecurity Programs and Executive Director of the CompTIA ISAO. “By connecting technology vendors with MSPs, CompTIA is strengthening the entire industry and fostering true collaboration to tackle the cybersecurity issues facing businesses today and tomorrow.”
CompTIA MSP members gain access to valuable insights and real-time, actionable threat intelligence as well as an interactive forum to share best practices and response efforts to the latest cyber risks. Other key benefits to members include:
Use of the CompTIA ISAO Cyber Risk Rating, Powered By SecurityScorecard, which provides insights into a company’s risk posture — and how to improve it — based on specific IT infrastructure configurations and other externally visible indicators.
Ability to leverage real-time threat analysis from SophosLabs Intelix to evaluate suspected sites and files, and share results to better protect member companies and their customers.
Access to the CompTIA ISAO Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) Splunk Intelligence Management, which allows members to perform customized threat hunting or modeling and share those results with peers.
A dedicated forum to discover real-time threat information, analyze impacts, coordinate response efforts, and educate staff.
The CompTIA ISAO is a member-led initiative governed by the Executive Steering Council, comprised of 80% MSPs and 20% vendors, distributors, and advisors. The Executive Steering Council is supported by the SME (Subject Matter Expert) Advisory Committee, made up of cyber experts and leaders representing all categories of CompTIA ISAO membership.
Additionally, innovative partnerships have been forged with the Information Technology-Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IT-ISAC), SecurityScorecard, and Splunk to build out the threat intelligence feed and custom reporting that serves as the backbone of the CompTIA ISAO. This ensures that members receive critical, targeted, real-time information in a way that’s easy to understand and act upon.
