CompTIA Unfolds GDPR Compliance Roadmap at EMEA Member and Partner Conference

Sep 27, 2017

Educational session focuses on steps to compliance

London –
Attendees at next month’s 2017 CompTIA EMEA Member and Partner Conference will have the opportunity to learn strategies and tactics for complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the new primary law that will regulate how companies protect European Union citizens' personal data.

“GDPR – A Roadmap to Being Compliant” will review guidelines from the Information Commissioner’s Office on the 12 steps to GDPR compliance.

The GDPR program is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 17th October, the opening day of CompTIA’s two-day annual conference.

“The effective date for GDPR implementation is fast approaching, yet many organisations are struggling to understand the full scope of this regulation,” said Kelly Ricker, executive vice president, events and education, CompTIA.

“For companies that have yet to begin the process, our conference session will help them to get a good head start on compliance,” Ricker continued. “For those that have launched compliance activities, the program will augment what they’ve already done.”

Jim Sneddon, AssureData founder and GDPR Certified Practitioner, will lead the session. He is a security industry veteran of 17 years with a wealth of experience working with organisations helping them to become compliant and secure.

The CompTIA EMEA Member and Partner Conference will feature unique educational session tracks for two audiences:

  • IT channel companies and executives looking for opportunities to network and share best practices that they can put directly to action back at work.
  • CompTIA training and academic partners interested in the latest developments related to CompTIA’s certification program.
