CompTIA Supports Senate Tax Reform Plan

Nov 29, 2017

WASHINGTON – CompTIA, the world’s leading technology association, released the following statement from CompTIA’s executive vice president for public advocacy Elizabeth Hyman in support of the Senate’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

“CompTIA applauds the work being done in the Senate to reform our outdated tax code. It’s been more than 30 years since Congress last overhauled our tax system. In our industry, that’s a lifetime. The need for smart reforms that enable American IT companies to compete on a level playing in today’s global marketplace has never been greater.

“The Senate’s plan to lower the corporate and pass-through rates, transition to a territorial system, tax repatriated profits at reasonable rates, and preserve the research and development tax credit would spur investment and innovation in the United States, and help ensure our IT industry remains globally competitive. We look forward to working with legislators over the coming weeks to get this proposal signed into law before the end of the  year.”
