Free, interactive workshops help girls build skills for future success

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – Girls in middle school can develop their passion for technology and build skills for their future careers through free, hands-on TechGirlz workshops presented by CompTIA Spark, the nonprofit and social impact arm of CompTIA.

The TechGirlz program aims to inspire middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology and empower them in their future jobs. Through “TechShopz” workshops, led by tech industry professionals, community leaders and students, girls can discover a variety of interests including math, biometrics, engineering and entrepreneurship.

“TechGirlz offers hands-on learning to help girls unlock their potential and explore new skills and opportunities,” said Danica Pascavage, Outreach manager for the TechGirlz program. “These workshops will give them the tools and confidence to use technology in their future careers.”

Upcoming workshops in April include Artistic Math, an opportunity for girls to use math to create captivating artwork; Entrepreneurship Mini Camp, where girls will learn how to create and grow their own business; Engineering and Roller Coasters, where girls will design and build a rollercoaster; and many more.

Workshops are open to girls in 5th through 8th grades. Many workshops are virtual.
