CompTIA Capitol Hill Event Focuses on Common Sense Approach to Federal Privacy Legislation

Jul 10, 2019

July 15th Discussion Weighs Need to Foster

a Vibrant Digital Economy and Protect Consumers

WASHINGTON, DC, July 10, 2019 – The enactment of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe, the passage of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and more than 240 other privacy bills introduced in statehouses across the country all point to the need for a comprehensive federal solution to online privacy.

On July 15 at noon in the Rayburn House Office Building, the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) will convene a panel of industry and privacy thought leaders to discuss the immediate need for federal privacy legislation. A nation-wide privacy blueprint that enables the U.S. to expand its leadership in technology innovation while ensuring that today’s laws adapt to the consumer protections needed for the 21st century is requested by both industry and consumer advocates.

The event is open to the public. Please RSVP to Matt Starr at [email protected].
