Linux+ Experts Needed

CompTIA is currently seeking Linux system administrators or similar IT professionals to participate in a Cut Score Workshop for our Linux+ Certification exam.

During the Cut Score workshop, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will determine and set the passing standard for the certification exam, and will create, develop, and review items for the CompTIA Linux+ exam.

Assistance from SMEs is crucial in providing an industry relevant exam. To qualify, potential Linux+ SMEs must have:

  • At least 5 years cumulative IT experience with at least 2 years of hands-on Linux systems administration.
  • It is preferred that SMEs are Linux+, LPIC, or Red Hat certified, or have equivalent or higher credentials.

SMEs who attend the workshop will receive:

  • An honorarium of $440 per day (or $2,200 total for the week), pending adequate level of participation
  • A complimentary CompTIA testing voucher for the exam of their choice
  • Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments daily during the workshop
  • 40 continuing education units (CEUs) upon successful completion of the workshop

In recognition of their contributions, all SMEs who participate in the entire Cut Score workshop will have their names and companies (if provided) listed on the CompTIA website.

*International SMEs will instead receive $540/day stipend ($2,700 total) to help defer additional travel costs.

Based on changing state and government guidelines/requirements, vaccination is currently not required for workshop participants.

When: March 3 - 7, 2025
Where: CompTIA Headquarters; 3500 Lacey Rd. Suite 100, Downers Grove, IL 60515 (Downers Grove is a suburb of Chicago)
