Florida's "Sales Tax Holiday", which includes computers, printers, software, etc. first passed the Florida Legislature at the urging of CompTIA (formerly TechAmerica) in 2014. The measure saved taxpayers $34 million in the first year, and $39.3 million in 2014, according to tax revenue figures released by the Florida Department of Revenue and Florida TaxWatch, an independent tax watchdog research organization. Florida's state sales tax is 6% on most goods.
