2010 has been an exciting, if not challenging year for many IT businesses, though the outlook and trends are very positive. Providers and vendors are not only growing their sales pipeline and generating additional services revenue, but several are making acquisitions to strengthen their market position and portfolios. There are countless changes taking place in the IT industry and keeping track of all the new business trends and market opportunities can be extremely difficult. How does the old saying go, “Nothing worthwhile is ever easy?” While that statement has been time-tested, we hope to simplify the lives of technology service providers who join us at the Radisson Edwardian Heathrow Hotel October 20th - 21st, 2010 for the CompTIA EMEA Member Conference.

This first-of-its-kind event will bring together more than 300 industry executives in a forum where they can network, collaborate and gain insight into the latest technologies and business trends. A key objective of the conference is to provide attendees with new ways to grow their businesses, and allow them to share challenges and best practices with their peers. Co-located with the 2010 E2C Academies and the TCA conference, members can participate in member community meetings, get details on the latest market research from CompTIA and attend educational programs during the two-day affair.

We have a fantastic lineup of speakers and topics for the conference, including:

  • Keynote speaker: Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE

  • Channel Execs Predict the Future: Executive panel includes Kaseya, Intel and Dell

  • Trepidation in Moving to the Cloud: with Dave Sobel, CEO of Evolve Technologies

  • SaaS and Security: Is Your Data Safe? Executive panel includes McAfee, Own Web Now and Zylog Systems LTD.

  • Community is Dead; Long Live Mega Collaboration: with Susan Dansey, Purple Cow Ideas Management

  • Recession Busting Tactics: Powered by Triolearn Training Center

  • And many more sessions

The European IT Services and Support community will hold one of its regular face-to-face meetings at the Member Conference, on October 20th. This group consists of IT service business executives from technology resellers, service providers, distributors, parts providers and logistic companies. The members meet face-to-face quarterly to develop industry standards and create work groups that address specific initiatives, including service performance benchmarks, establishing industry best practices, and addressing other key business issues. The agenda for this session includes Green IT and Managed Services, as well as discussions concerning ongoing initiatives and activities for 2011. Current initiatives of the IT Services and Support Executive Forum include: defining the Green IT service provider, creating a cost-to-serve benchmark, and developing industry standards for damage caused by end-users.

See the event website for additional session details and to register for the conference. We look forward to two days of exciting education sessions and collaboration and hope you’ll be a part of it!
