We want you!

As in any relationship, CompTIA’s connection with the industry we represent is ever-evolving. This is especially true of our rapport with the vendor community—a relationship which is undergoing a dramatic transformation. As in any relationship, CompTIA’s connection with the industry we represent is ever-evolving. This is especially true of our rapport with the vendor community—a relationship which is undergoing a dramatic transformation. In the past that relationship was based largely on sponsorships (dollars and cents) rather than on membership (engagement and participation). Participation in CompTIA was presented as an “investment” and the ROI for a vendor was calculated almost solely from CompTIA’s ability to connect those vendors to resellers. That is changing going forward.

The new CompTIA is focused on communication, connection and collaboration. We want to invite everyone to the table in communities of interest to help vendors, resellers and service providers connect with one another, reach new audiences and realize new opportunities. To that end, we are in the process of creating several new communities (Security, Healthcare IT, MSP, Managed Print and more) led by highly engaged executive councils of 20-25 thought leaders in a given market, technology or vertical. These groups will identify ways that working together and utilizing CompTIA’s resources can create new programs and benefits for the Channel. These benefits could take the form of new research programs, educational efforts, promotional campaigns, regional events or other projects.

We want these groups to be comprised of vendors and resellers sitting at the same table trying to understand and overcome the issues which confront them. Some of these groups will have access to CompTIA general funds to accomplish their missions. They will not be sponsored and there will be no charge to participate. Being an active member will be the only requirement.

Please consider this a personal invitation to let us know what you need and how you think we can help. As we turn your feedback into industry programs, I hope we can count on your support – not in the form of money but in your time and participation. You are our greatest asset!
