IT Services Industry Growth to be the Focus of Canada Meetings

After several cycles of tough international economic conditions, CompTIA’s IT Services and Support Executive Forum will highlight the industry opportunities at its first 2010 meeting in Canada. The event will be held today, in Richmond Hill, Ontario, with many IT service leaders in attendance to discuss the emerging business trends and learn how the community can benefit from several new technologies. In addition, attendees will participate in workshops where current and new industry initiatives will be developed. Member-lead teams will focus on ideas and programs to promote and/or improve the IT services industry, utilizing the resources of CompTIA to accomplish their assignments.

The IT Services and Support Executive Forum is the most tenured CompTIA IT community, with a broad membership consisting of the best and brightest industry leaders. Members include executives and service directors from the top vendor and IT service provider organizations, distributors, and parts logistics companies. This specific group has been the foundation for several CompTIA subgroups and industry initiatives, including the IT Security Special Interest Group (developed the Security Trustmark) and A+ Certification. You’ll note the “Executive Forum” designation this year instead of the former “Section” label. This change is significant as CompTIA expands to a new Community format for 2010, which includes several new groups that will be charged with advancing different segments of the technology industry.

Members are typically very busy services executives, so participation in every call or meeting isn’t always possible, but input is ALWAYS welcome.

Today’s meeting is just one of the IT Services and Support Executive Forum events to be held in 2010, with all members invited to attend. Beyond the networking opportunities at the face-to-face summits, attendees will learn more about the top trends and technologies, receive updates on industry developments, work on current and potential initiatives, and develop best practices and programs to benefit the industry.

  • Security Access / Clearance Regulations (potential Canadian team initiative)
