If you are in the IT industry, you’ve noticed the ground shaking. Things are changing, and change can be scary.  If you are a member of the EMEA ITSS Community, you don’t have to face that change alone.

The EMEA IT Services and Support Community held a meeting in London yesterday with vendor and service provider participants from various EMEA countries.  The theme for the meeting was: Being Ready for Technology Shifts

All of the work at the full-day meeting -- educational sessions, discussion sessions and initiatives -- centered on that theme.   We learned about service transformation, customer effort scores, changing methods of communication in the channel, and legal changes in the EU.  We also worked on creating a map of industry changes… what is fading, what is current, what is emerging…and discussed how that will impact our businesses.

But perhaps the key contribution to the theme of being ready for change was research created by this community presented for the first time at this meeting.  As part of the Changing Service Delivery Models initiative, the community identified elements of new technology that provide solid benefits and increased profits to services businesses.  The presentation, Business Opportunities: Smart Devices and Knowledge Management, outlined that research and identified next steps to put these tools into practice.  Members can see the full report online.

Coming together to improve ourselves, our businesses and the IT industry, is what communities do best.
